Diversity in Business Leadership
Pearl Initiative, in collaboration with SABIC, is organising sessions for university students in Saudi Arabia with the aim to raise awareness on conscious and unconscious biases in the workplace.
The sessions will focus on addressing different types of conscious and unconscious biases, ways to prevent them, and best practices implemented by SABIC and companies in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.
These sessions will provide the youth with tools and practical know-how to manage conscious and unconscious biases in their future workplaces.
The sessions will highlight the importance of addressing biases in the workplace as part of the businesss corporate governance approach and to ensure the growth and sustainability of a business. Unconscious and conscious biases occur that can impact the workplace and there are key data-driven strategies and tactics that can be employed by business leaders and employees to ensure such biases are mitigated.
The sessions will highlight how successful businesses put in place specific measures to tackle bias to improve governance and accountability in the workplace. Sessions will include the following:
- Shared experiences on successful business practices addressing bias in the workplace.
- Promotion of different types of tools and methods to mitigate bias.
- Examples on how business leaders implement policies to advance diversity and inclusion at work and ways to enhance their effectiveness.
